Let's spread the word on astronomy

Contact our Outreach Coordinator and see if we can help with your project. We ask that you contact us at least 6 weeks in advance of your event so that we can find volunteers to assist.​

The Seattle Astronomical Society (SAS) provides education and outreach events for the benefit of the general public. This is a central component of the society's mission.

Our outreach program is sustained by dedicated volunteers, who contribute time and expertise in sharing their knowledge and passion for astronomy.

​

We have helped schools, scouts, non-profits, and municipalities with astronomy projects, and crafts at STEM events. We also do events for businesses.

Do you want to look through telescopes at your event? Just know that we are at the mercy of the weather. The best time to schedule that type of an event is June through November. Please be aware that in the summer the sun does not set until very late in the day, typically after 8 or 9pm.
